SRI could save rice seed from 27% to 43%

In 2011, two farmers in Kampong Cham Province were interested to apply the System of Rice Intensification (SRI) after they had been trained by staff of the EU-funding project, entitled “Promoting climate resilient livelihoods for Small-Scale Farmers in Most Vulnerable Dry Land Areas in Siem Reap and Kampong Cham Provinces”.

Khin Peach was, 32 years old, a cooperating farmer of the project mentioned above could save rice seed approximately 43% while he changed from conventional rice cultivation practice to SRI. Another cooperating farmer, named Khin Sat, 37 years old, could save the rice seed about 27% after applying the SRI technique.
