Increase in agricultural innovation practices of the target groups of HMB4

KAMPONG SPEU: From 1-5 August 2011, CEDAC hosted the fourth field monitoring visit from Mr. Yasuhiro Fukushima, the project donor of Happy Mountain Bird 4 – Ensuring Access to Primary Education for Children of the Poorest Families Phase (HMB-IV). The visit aimed to assess the project’s progress in relation to innovation practices of target families and Happy Mountain Bird Promoters (HMPs).

During field visit of project donor we found that most of target families in 19 target villages across 4 target districts in Kampong Speu province have improved agricultural innovation practices; for instance chicken raising has increased 28.67%, building chicken house has increased 13.33%, vegetable growing has increased 40%, effective microorganism (EM) has increased 0.07%, garden fencing has increased 0.33%, and ecological System of Rice Intensification (SRI) has increased 39.67%. Percentage of increase is compared with the data in July 2011.
