PCR SR&KCM Organized Quarterly Meeting in Siem Reap Province

Siem Reap: From 23-24 June 2011, Mr. Yi Kim Than, Director of CEDAC Field Program and Director of the project PCR SR&KCM [1]facilitated a quarterly meeting with 26 staff in the project office in Siem Reap Province. The purpose of the meeting was to sum up the project’s progress as well as to prepare activity work plan for the next quarter.

It was able to see that the project has achieved many activities and results including the organization of the Project Launching Workshop at the national level and provincial level, Village General Meeting, Selection of the interested farmers, Capacity building for interested farmers on ecological System of Rice Intensification (SRI), baseline survey, commune forum, action research, capacity building for local authorities, and exposure visits.

For the next three months, the project will put more effort to accomplish the following tasks: continuous selection of the interested farmers, development of demonstration and learning sites, field day, establishment of tree nurseries, capacity building for key farmers, distribution of learning materials, organization of the project advisory meeting, and provincial workshop.

It is important to notice that, with funding support provided by the European Union (EU), CEDAC in cooperation with Plan UK, Plan Cambodia is implementing a project titled “Promoting climate resilient livelihoods for Small-Scale Farmers in Most Vulnerable Dry Land Areas in Siem Reap and Kampong Cham Provinces/PCR SR&KCM” in 325 villages in Kampong Cham and Siem Reap Provinces.
