On 21-22 September 2010, Mr. Yi Kim Than, Program Director of CEDAC, Mr. Huot Dok and Mr. Khath Bora, Project Coordinator of CEDAC, and Mrs. Moeu Sokchea, Project Officer of CEDAC, participated in Forum for Development Ideas which was held at the Intercontinental Hotel, Phnom Penh. The DI Forum was organized by The Asia Foundation (TAF) in cooperation with The Ministry of Interior of The Royal Government of Cambodia under the Demand for Good Governance (DFGG) project, funded by the World Bank. CEDAC is one among 35 NGOs which have been shortlisted by Grant Making Committee (GMC) of DFGG Non-State Actor Component that executed by TAF. For the DI forum, all shortlisted NGOs were invited to participate in a fair-like event and prepare booths to display the project’s framework and social accountability tools that CEDAC is going to implement as part of the grant application process; at the same time, CEDAC representatives were also interviewed at this fair by members of the GMC.

In the morning of September 21, 2010, Mr. Khath Bora introduced CEDAC’s proposed project to His Excellency Sar Kheng, Deputy Prime Minister, Ministry of Interior, His Excellency Ngy Chanphal, Secretary of State, Ministry of Interior, and many guests. Moreover, all CEDAC staff distributed case studies and impression of stakeholders on impact of commune forum, participatory planning and citizen report card (CRC) of LAAR, CSPPM, and SECIL projects to guests whom came to visit our booth.

It is note that CEDAC has applied the proposed proposal entitled “Improving the Engagement of Civil Society with Commune and District Councils in Takeo and Kandal provinces” for seeking a funding support from large sized grants under the DFGG project.
